Look Up is a spoken word written and performed by Gary Turk for the “online” generation.

A video EVERYONE should see!

This new generation is growing up in a world where real social communication is lacking because everything is done behind a screen via text messages or over the internet. We aren’t allowing others to really get to know us because we only post things that we want others to see.

I find it sad that this new generation will never get to truly experience how it feels to run around outside with friends at the park using our imaginations and pretending we are on some grand adventure in a far away place that we have made our own. Or have their heart racing as you’re passing notes in class hoping you don’t get caught by your teacher. Everyone nowadays are so captivated by what appears to them on a tiny, brightly lit screen that we seem to ignore those around us whether it be strangers, family, or friends.

In some ways all this new “social” media has made us and generations to come more antisocial than ever. We post things online for the whole world to see but who is truly listening?

LONDON, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Melbourne tops the ranking as the world’s most pleasant city to live in for the fourth year running, but an Economist Intelligence Unit poll also finds that turmoil in Ukraine and the Middle East have pushed other cities down the list.

Vienna, Vancouver and Toronto captured 2nd, 3rd and 4th places in the list of 140 cities released on Tuesday. Bottom was Damascus, capital of war-torn Syria, while just above it in ascending order were Dhaka in Bangladesh, Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea and Lagos, Nigeria.

Why is Australia on this list four times??

Because we’re awesome.
